Our role in the project

atene_Logoatene KOMs role within the DANS ON project is to lead the work package 3 “Transferability”. The main objective in WP3 is to communicate how the DANS Model can be transfered to other parts of the NSR and applied and implemented by the partner organisations. Furthermore, the aim is to develop policy recommendations.
Another important task is the activity 2.3 “Analysis and Mapping”.  This activity includes a target group analysis and a list consisitng of key stakeholders.

Supporting local authorities to improve the competitive situation in Europe as well as the cooperation with and initiation of local economic power are the original aims of atene KOM.
atene KOM’s areas of expertise are regional development, broadband deployment and technologies, sustainable energy and education. atene KOM managed and participated in numerous EU projects. Innovation and confidentiality are combined with the ability to develop topic and goal oriented networks and with that, strike new paths. atene KOM is bolstered by a broad network of national and international participants, stakeholders, and decision makers who support our work and when necessary, supplement it. Our portfolio shows expertise in project management, organizational development, funding advice (national and EU wide) and regional management. The interface between broadband connection and other sectors like education, energy and social inclusion are examples for activities.
As the holding company for the Federal Broadband Bureau, atene KOM is an independent competence centre to support the implementation of the German broadband strategy and local broadband developments. The federal broadband bureau is also responsible for the coordination of the national broadband development by supporting and complementing German counties in their activities and building up a communication network. Moreover, the collection, evaluation and distribution of best practice projects constitutes another area of responsibility.
