On April 28, Värmland County Administrative Board arranged together with Hedmark County Council a regional workshop “Digital Värmland” within the framework of the EU project DANS ON.
The aim of the workshop was to share information about the digital initiative that started in Värmland, and discuss how the Digital agenda in Värmland, can be developed further, for example by working with Hedmark in Norway in future EU projects.
Katarina Nordmark, Värmland County Administrative Board, spoke about why Värmland is making a digital investment and has developed a digital agenda:
- The digital transition will affect the whole society. In 20 years it is expected that more than half of all jobs has been replaced with digital technology. The ongoing digitization is of great importance to growth and competitiveness – global, national and also regionally. To meet these challenges, Värmland developed a Regional Digital Agenda for Värmland. The aim is to work in broad collaboration and to take advantage of the opportunities that digitization offers people and businesses in Värmland.
Another theme during the workshop was “How can Sweden and Norway work together in the future to meet the digital challenges?” Some of the topics discussed, where collaboration could be a successful approach was, broadband, Innovation andinnovative environments and Digital integration.
The workshop participants also learned about how the DANS Model works and what benefits are achievable through application of the Model in creating new innovations.
